The Packsaddle trail originally began on the southeast side of the creek and crossed to the northwest side on this footlog at about the 2.2 km. point. Here my brother Gordon crosses the log on his way up to the end of trail construction to explore the route further, July 1970. A block of wood with a cable wrapped around it is all that remains of this crossing today. It can still be seen beside the trail.
